TRANSPORTATION

Here’s some information about getting around in Honduras.

We have taken the bus many times to travel between San Pedro Sula, Copan, Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba and Trujillo, and have never had any issues – other than uncomfortable seats sometimes on the buses like Cotuc. But both Hedman Alas & Cristina offer very comfortable first class seating.

In addition to the bus, you can often hire a taxi to take you between cities e.g. $100-150 USD between La Ceiba & Trujillo, or there are vans offered by some of the land developers to Trujillo. Contact us to find out the latest. Below are links to some of the bus lines that we’re familiar with.

There are also charter planes to Trujillo, as well as regional airlines such as Sosa, to take you between Roatan and the mainland. And one day maybe, there will be scheduled flights to & from Trujillo!

The Cristina bus line offers excellent seating for a small premium. They have started running to Trujillo again after a couple of false starts. Check their website: www.transportescristina.com for recent timetables

We have travelled on Hedman Alas many times and have found them very comfortable & safe. They even give 1st class passengers a small snack & drink (but pretty basic stuff however).
